Amaretto Sauce

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup amaretto liqueur
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 egg beaten

In a medium saucepan with double boiler combine first 4 ingredients. Cook and stir until sugar dissolves and butter melts. Remove from heat, stir in beaten egg and vanilla. Place over boiling water and stir until thickened.
